Yellowstone and Tetons

On Gina's way out to Seattle with her parents, I flew to meet them in Billings, Montana to join them for a trip to Yellowstone/Tetons.



We entered on the northeast corner of the yellowstone and made our way through the park toward our first night's destination at Teton Village. Upon getting to Yellowstone, we almost immediately came across a black bear, bison, a big momma grizzly with 2 cubs, deer, elk, and lots of nice waterfalls and other scenery.






After spending the first night in Teton Village by a Jackson Hole ski mountain, we spent the next day touring through the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. The Grand Tetons, which are surrounded by a number of crystal clear lakes, were some of the most scenic mountains I've seen.






Before rolling out for Seattle, we spent the rest of the day and the next morning checking out the rest of yellowstone, including Old Faithful and other geisers, the Mammoth hot springs, and seeking out more wildlife including elk, coyotes, mountain goats, and bald eagles. A single elk that we found "off the beaten path" (so no throngs of people around) was probably my favorite. We were able to approach him within 10-15 yards!











All in all, this area is an incredibly diverse collection of natural features and wildlife that would be easy for anyone to appreciate.
