We drove to a couple of state parks today before heading home. As we were driving, we passed by this guy hanging out right by the edge of the road.

Lighthouse at one of the state parks- fort casey.

We stopped by the little town located on Penn Cove- maybe you've heard of Penn Cove mussels? anywho, i guess a lot of mussels hang out here. Was a great weather day for winter- sunny and clear. you can see across to mount baker- gina's fave mountain.
Then we went to point of deception state park and did a big hike. here are some of the pics from the trail.
This is from the bridge over the point of deception- the deception being that existence of this straight between whidbey and fidalgo islands made whidbey- and island, not a peninsula as thought when it was initially discovered. beautiful views toward the pacific one way and back toward the motherland (see mt baker again) the other. walking out on the bridge was a little frightening- a narrow walkway and big ole semis cruising by shaking the bridge was a little worrisome for yours truly.

A dreamy and serene area of the world! I have some memories of deception pass from my earlier travels to PNW. The Nat'l Geo photo of the eagle is blog worthy! Load it up! -bs
Pretty. And for the record, the chili pepper is just the beginning of dressing up our child like food. All kinds of food. Unless it's blue.
we are ready for some more pics and information of your latest adventures!
