This weekend we went to Highlands, NC to visit with the Guldbergs and some other friends / current members of Bob's lab. It was very nice to be in the mountains, and although it was warmer than usual, the low 80's felt fantastic compared to the high 90's we left in Nashville. We got lots of time to relax at their cabin and reminisce / catch up with friends. Saturday, we went on a fun ~2 mile hike to a nice waterfall in the area. This was kind of a hidden trail and there were only two other people there outside of our group, which was nice. Hayden seemed to absolutely love being outside (as always). He happily stared at the trees while I carried him and then slept part of the way. He also liked to watch everyone swimming around below the waterfall although he did not like it when I dipped his toes into the (surprisingly) cold water.
